PPS Design was instructed to design a mixed use scheme for the redevelopment of a former Car Showroom in Fenny Stratford, Milton Keynes. The site was occupied by two bespoke retail units designed specifically for the sale and servicing of cars. The site benefitted from a strong frontage within the retail area, located between a row of small retail units and a listed public house. Extensive negotiations with Milton Keynes Conservation resulted in the design of a 3 storey mixed use scheme of retail and residential. The building frontage was broken down and designed to appear as a continuation of the terrace adjoining. Security of the parking area was an issue raised by the Council in which a detailed crime and design audit was prepared in conjunction with the Crime Prevention Officer.

Church View was a modest 1970’s bungalow located in the heart of the village of Moulsoe, east of Milton Keynes. The bungalow had deteriorated into a poor condition and sat incongruously between two listed cottages. PPS Design were commissioned to design a replacement dwelling that would make more efficient use of the site and be of a high quality design to sit between the two listed cottages. The site was characterised by a steep slope falling away from the road frontage. A traditional cottage style dwelling was proposed incorporating a split level design with raised kitchen diner over a double garage block sunken into the slope.
