Conservation and Listed Building:
Residential Conversion of the
Lincoln Arms Public House
Client: Greene King PLC
PPS
were commissioned by Greene King PLC to investigate the
potential of the Lincoln Arms Public House, a Grade II Listed
Building that had become surplus to requirements. After carrying
out a detailed Historic Buildings Appraisal a scheme for conversion
to 14 flats was negotiated with the Local Planning Authotiry.
To enable the cost of conversion, eight new build dwellings were
also negotiated within the grounds of the Public House.
Whiteley Village
Client: Private
Whiteley Village is an elderly persons retirement village
located in the Surrey Green Belt, built in the early 20th Century
at the behest of William Whiteley an Edwardian philanthropist.
It is an outstanding example of Edwardian architecture and forms
its own Conservation Area with virtually all the buildings listed.
PPS negotiated a new build housing scheme to enable the modernisation
and repair of the Village and co-ordinated the refurbishment programme
with the local authority and Robert Adam Architects.
