A recent example is the Winslow Green mixed use development on land adjacent to Winslow in Buckinghamshire. The site was a former WWII airfield adjoining the northern edge of Winslow and the existing railway and is now used for a variety of purposes. The site was promoted as a sustainable addition to Winslow, Taking advantage of the future "East - West Rail" project and also providing Aylesbury Vale with 3,300 much needed dwellings.
The application required an Environmental Impact Assessment that had to address challenging issues related to highways, noise, air quality, landscape and archaeological issues.

Many large scale developments now
require wide ranging Environmental Impact Assessment as part of
the submission for planning permission. PPS can project manage

The area identified within the adopted Local Plan evolved into
a comprehensive mixed-use proposal to create a new sustainable
employment extension to Aylesbury.

and floodplain issues.
