Urban Design and Masterplanning:
Peacock Farm – Bracknell
Client: Redrow Homes South Midlands Limited
Peacock
Farm – has been praised by the Bracknell Forest Local
Plan Inspector as a model for other mixed use urban extensions.
The Master Plan and Development Brief prepared on Behalf of Redrow
Homes South East Limited was noted as bringing forward:
“the type and form of development which the Government advocates.”
The Inspector also commented that “It would be an extension
to, and have a positive relation with, an urban area.
It would exploit and improve existing infrastructure and services,
be well served by public transport and generate good public transport
as part of it. It would carry forward the tradition of a successful
new town by the promotion of a new neighbourhood at the edge of
and closely related with the main built up area. It could be regarded
as an Urban Village.”
